The Dominican Film Commission publishes 2019 results of the Film Law

The Dominican Film Commission commemorated the tenth anniversary of the Dominican Film Law by issuing their research paper Results of Law No. 108-10 for the Promotion of Cinematographic Activity in the Dominican Republic 2010 – 2019.

 

The findings catalogue the results of the Film Law Incentives and its effect on the country’s robust film industry. 

 

The 2019 results show how the Dominican Film Law has positioned the country as an idyllic film destination.  

  • 81 international audiovisual productions were filmed in the Dominican Republic in 2019, 8 of which reaped the benefits of the Law’s film incentives.
  • More than 5.8 million dollars worth of Transferable Tax Credits were emitted.
  • More than 1,500 new crew members and film service companies registered under the Dominican Film Registry.
